Vehicle Security Qeustions

Upon receiving your order (Mon-Fri), we will reach out to you within 24 hours to coordinate a fitting appointment, with the goal of installing your tracker within 2-5 working days. Please be aware that this timeframe may extend during peak periods or if you reside in a challenging-to-reach location. It's important to note that a fitting date cannot be confirmed until we receive your verified order. We strive to accommodate your scheduling preferences, and in the rare instance where we cannot carry out the installation within a reasonable timeframe, you are entitled to a full refund. Your satisfaction is our priority.

The S5 represents the highest Thatcham category, incorporating ADR (Automatic Driver Recognition). An authorised driver must carry a tag, card, or smartphone with an encrypted app for driver identification. On the other hand, S7 trackers, being of a lower category, lack this specific feature. An S5 tracker is designed to trigger alerts in more theft scenarios compared to an S7 tracker. Despite differences in driver recognition, both S5 and S7 systems share fundamental features, including 24/7 control room monitoring, internal backup battery, and safeguards against the vehicle being towed or lifted. Additionally, all our S5 and S7 trackers include a dedicated smartphone app, offering features such as real-time location tracking and various other useful functionalities.

n contrast to the Thatcham categories S5 and S7, it's important to note that S5+ is not officially recognised as a Thatcham category. Rather, it is a term utilised within the industry to denote an S5 tracker with the added feature of remote immobilisation. Remote immobilisation empowers the 24/7 control centre staff to immobilise the vehicle in the event of a theft. While immobilisation is not a Thatcham requirement and may not be an insurance necessity, it proves to be a valuable tool in combating vehicle theft.

Certain S5+ trackers in our lineup allow customers to remotely immobilise their vehicles using a smartphone app. Additionally, some S5+ systems incorporate "no tag, no start" technology, ensuring that the vehicle cannot be driven unless the Automatic Driver Recognition (ADR) tag is in close proximity to the vehicle.

Thatcham stands as the sole "not-for-profit" research centre in the UK, funded by insurers, and has been a leading authority in vehicle security since the 1990s. Thatcham is credited with establishing the S5 and S7 certifications for vehicle tracking systems, thoroughly assessing the functionality, design, and performance of these products. It's essential to recognise that Thatcham is not a brand of tracker; rather, it functions more as a governing body, setting standards and criteria for the evaluation of vehicle security systems.

For all our trackers, a subscription fee is necessary. Depending on your chosen tracker, the subscription fee is either collected by us during checkout or paid directly to the tracking manufacturer post-installation. Similar to purchasing a mobile phone without a contract, the tracker won't function without an active subscription.

Your subscription fee encompasses various essential services, including 24/7/365 staffed control-room monitoring (if your product is insurance approved), covering data charges for tracker communication on the GSM network, providing ongoing technical support, and managing the administration of your tracking account. It ensures the continuous and effective operation of your tracking system.

Absolutely, if you've acquired an insurance-approved product. Following the completion of your installation and payment of the subscription fee, you will receive a certificate of installation. This certificate serves as documentation that you can provide to your insurer. Depending on the product, the certificate can be instantly accessed through your online portal or will be sent to you via email by the tracking manufacturer within 48 hours. It's a crucial piece of documentation that verifies the installation of the tracking system and facilitates the insurance process.

Certainly, our service is completely mobile. We offer the convenience of coming to you, whether it's at your home or work address. We understand the importance of flexibility, and our team will coordinate with you to find a suitable time for the visit.

Certainly, we frequently visit car and motorhome dealerships across the UK to carry out installations of our tracking products. To facilitate this, all you need to do is obtain the dealership's permission and inform them of the scheduled visit. We'll take it from there and ensure a seamless installation process.

Typically, the installation process is completed within 1-2 hours.

Up to this point, we have not encountered any instances where a customer's warranty has been impacted following one of our installations. Our procedures strictly adhere to Thatcham-approved installation methods. However, given the diverse terms in manufacturer warranties, it is your responsibility to verify that installing a specific product on your vehicle does not influence your vehicle's warranty agreement. Always check with your vehicle manufacturer to ensure compatibility and compliance with warranty terms.
